Part-time or Full Time?
Reservists have the opportunity to serve either Part-time or Full-time, depending on openings and needs of their desired unit.
Active Guard Reserve (AGR)
This is a Full-time position that is the most similar to being on Active-Duty.
Air Reserve Technician (ART)
ARTs are referred to as “Dual Status” Airmen. They are a government civilian in the unit during the week but perform drill and training in uniform with their unit during UTA weekends and training events.
Traditional Reservist (TR)
TRs are part-time and serve one weekend a month plus 14 training days per year. Most TRs have airline or other civilian jobs in addition to their Reserve job.
